Now we don't want to come across as arrogant when we say this, but we think Tillamook cheese tastes pretty darn good. Yes,
we're quite proud of our cheeses, but that's because we've put an awful lot of work into them.
Tastes better because it's made better.
Making great cheese is a lot like making great macaroni and cheese: get a good recipe, and don't take any shortcuts. We've
been using our same recipe for over a hundred years (in addition to being good at cheesemaking, we're also good at keeping
secrets ).
Farmer owned and operated since 1909.
It was our farmers who provided the milk for the first wheel of cheese, and it's our farmers who still do it today. For
nearly 100 years our board of directors consists of local farmers who ensure the original founding principles for the
co-op remain.
Only the best quality milk.
Our milk comes in daily, fresh from farms nearby, which allows us to get it to the creamery in very short order. After
that it's tested. Even a trace of an impurity and it's not eligible to become our cheese.
All our cheeses are all natural.
No artificial hormones. No antibiotics. No artificial aging ingredient. No kidding.
Aged naturally.
Cheese tastes so much better when it's aged the way it's supposed to be, naturally with time. We can't understand why it
would be done any other way. Then again, we don't understand powdered cheese either.
